Pictured Rocks

by

Traveling from Western Michigan through Manistee National Forest, Traverse City State Forest, and Gaylord State Forest, while crossing the majestic Mackinac Bridge, you might think the scenery couldn’t get any better. If you love nature as I do, this road trip should definitely be on your bucket list.

I was tempted to stop and camp several times on my way to Munising, Michigan, where I discovered a charming little campground. Although I only had two days to spend in the area, I was able to take the ferry to Grand Island, go off-road biking, kayak around the Pictured Rocks, and enjoy the crystal-clear waters of Lake Superior.

As I’ve traveled around the country, I’ve been continually amazed by the many beautiful places we are fortunate to have in our nation. The Upper Peninsula of Michigan is truly a “national treasure” and undoubtedly ranks among my top ten places to revisit; two days there felt like a taste of what it offers. The video includes some shots of Lake Superior and the Mackinac Bridge as I headed south.
